beta and I met through her affiliation with MsQuakecon. She used to hang out in the Ms Quakecon channel but I had no idea she a part of Ms Quakecon, let alone a female gamer. I was interviewing the people who ran the tournament for Quakecon that year so I happened to notice she was listed on the staff list. Besides the point she was a female gamer, she had the same background as myself. Not many female gamers started playing Quake 1 or even Doom for the matter. She had a thick old school background that allowed us to bond much closer than I have with female gamers that started playing Quake 2 or Quake 3. She also lived about 15 miles away from where I live so we started hanging out after we met for the first time at Quakecon in Dallas, Texas.  I am blessed I have had the chance to meet such a sweet friend as her in a time where there seemed to be no female gamers in sight!
