Running Quake3world.com for such a long time, you can easily get caught up in meeting some awesome people in the Quake III Arena gaming community. Cyric was a guy that always hit up on the Quake3World forums. One day we got caught up in an email and then got each other's ICQs. I noticed he was awesome at his communication skills and he had lots of technical point of views in hardware for the Q3 game as well. One day I decided to post a help wanted ad for a section at the Quake3world.com site called Map of the Week. Cyric emailed me and offered a helping hand. As many months went by, I really thought this guy would be an awesome addition to the Q3W site, so he was the first newsie that was a volunteer at the site. 

Many years have passed by since then and Cyric only gets better as a sweet guy every day. He has some issues when it comes to a certain women in the gaming industry that's known for creating games and rocking at them too. But I give him some slack for his infatuation with them. ;)

CyriC launched a Doom 3 site called Phobos Lab in November 2001, then renamed it to PlanetDoom for Gamespy Industries in 2003. I finally had the chance to meet Cyric in person at Quakecon 2k3. He was a bit different in person than he is online but that didn't change me teasing him.
