SeaWorld 2001

Saturday - September 16th, 2001
A couple of friends and I went to Sea World.  I haven't been there for at least 6 years now so it was nice to catch up on all of the things under the sea. ;)

Wild Arctic Ride
The last time I have been here this was a different ride. When walking up to it I told Sluggo that it used to be a ride where you are on a submarine. He told me no,  you ride on a helicopter. That made me really realize how long since it's been since I have been to Sea World. :)

This ride was absolutely gorgeous but a tad short. What was pretty funny was when we were in the ride it said that there was complications with the helicopter but in reality, it also happened. We had to be moved to another theatre to watch it from the beginning again.

Wild Arctic Environment
Once you leave the ride you encounter a really awesome atmosphere that makes you feel you're really out there in the cold. The Beluga Whales, Polar Bears are a really nice touch to it all.

Shamu Adventure Show
Baby Shamu was so cute with the gang. I enjoyed watching him follow everyone around in the show.

Pirates 4-D Show
This was a very very cool theatre movie thingy. It was all in 3-D, you wear those funky glasses. Sluggo and I didn't understand why they called it 4D. Maybe it was because they wanted people to think it's better than 3-D? ;)  This is a MUST see if anyone ever goes to Sea World. The whole sprinkling water on you, and blowing air was just a really good effect.

Dolphin Show
The highlight of the reason why I liked this show so much was the lighthouse. I am a big lighthouse fan so it's like whoa! I love the new look.

ShipWreck Rapids Ride
We went on the ride the first time and liked it so much we went three times in a row since it wasn't too busy at the time. The first time Chris got pretty soaked with Sal, Kelly and I having a little bit of dampness. The second time Chris and Sal got more wet. The third time was the WORSE for me. I was drenched. It wasn't even as bad as the other guys either. I was practically hosed down with water because I was sitting in an area where the waterfall has the most water. A very interesting experience. The bad thing about me is I had no cover for my camera so I stuffed it down my overalls trying to protect it that way. All of us walked away with our sandals squeaking.

Sea Lion and Otter Show

Shark Encounter

We're Done for the Day
We stopped by Anhueser Busch's Hospitality Center before we left. I wanted to get a picture of us four so I asked this lady that was standing outside. She asked me if I was from San Diego and I told her that three of us was from here. She had this funny look on her face and said, "Oh no! That means if the picture comes out bad, you guys can come back and yell at me!"   By the time we went to take the picture she asked us to say Sex so most of our expressions in this picture (posted above) was from her having us say that. I was thinking she'd just have us say cheese or something! :o
