CALIGIRL'S COMMENT
Desmoden and I work for the same company for years without even knowing it. I was contracting with Mplayer for about 3 years while I was living in San Diego, California. I finally wanted to move up to San Jose to live near the Mplayer offices to work in-house. I met him one day on accident the first night I was moving in my new cube there. He was passing by my cube whistling a happy tune. I actually thought he was a janitor at first, to my surprise I see this hot looking guy walking up looking over my cube with a curious look on his face. It was 10pm that night and he couldn't understand why this young girl was working hard, unpacking her stuff, then going to her computer like it was the last day on the earth, working on updating news at the Xtreme Network websites. From then on we ended up being close friends. One thing that used to have me laughing was how much Desmoden was into PC games. He didn't' look like he'd even have any interested in them! He had a thing for Unreal Tournament at first but since I ran Quake3world, he decided to challenge me 1 vs 1 with Q3, this was a game I was addicted to at the time so you know what the end result was, him falling on his butt many times.
Desmoden was a very caring and dear friend that year I lived out in Northern California from February 2000 to March 2001. When there were any problems that came up at work or even my personal life, he was always there to lend a helping hand with an attitude of never wanting anything in return. After living my whole life in Southern California then ending up in Northern California, it seemed like it was another state. To this day I think that these two areas really should be split in half like South and North Carolina. They are two different worlds. One thing I learned about moving away was how cool it was to meet such awesome friends in a place you'd never think you'd run into. Being able to meet someone as precious as him has made me feel that you can really find a gold mine in a heart of man.
