CALIGIRL'S COMMENT
Huckster was a name that just about everyone knew on Mplayer back in the early days of the gaming service. He always had a huge purple M by his name so people automatically knew he was in charge when he entered the game lobby. When I started beta testing for Mplayer's gaming service, I noticed he was around a lot in the beta gaming lobbies along with the meetings that we had for the testing team. After about a year or so of not really knowing him personally but knowing of him, I met him in person at E3 in 1999

Finally, in January 2000 I moved to work for Mplayer in-house. The night my brother and I arrived we hooked up our computers at our cubes and decided to hop on to play Quake III Arena on these awesome super fast connections. We jumped in the Mplayer's LAN servers first. Come to find out EvilTwin and Huckster happened to be playing already on the server so we just started playing as normal. Both of them were very good but it still didn't mean I didn't get them quite to many times than they thought I would. ;)   They walked over to the other new building (Hearme bought a new building months before we moved out) and tapped my brother on the shoulder. Talked to him for a bit and asked where I was. He said oh, Cali is right in the next cube over. I had my headphones on the time but I also turned down the volume for a bit to ease drop to see if I could make out who's voices were talking to my brother. DarkViper tapped me on the shoulder saying, "Hey, Huckster and EvilTwin came by to say hi."   EvilTwin had this really shy smile and Huckster started complimenting me on how I played well with Q3. Those were the days. :)

After Mplayer was bought, he was offered a job by Gamespy. He moved to Irvine, California a few months after I moved down south to work at the main headquarters. With the years of really getting to know Huckster well, he is a really sweet guy all around. He's the type of guy that will drop things just to help out a friend. I was honored that he took the time to attend the Birthday Bash in August 2001.
