January Pictures
Nicodemus' favorite toy wasn't shown in the Christmas photos because I didn't take any of him
playing with it at the time. Since I was able to get even more photos after the
News
Years, I thought I'd make him a January picture collection! Enjoy.

Nicodemus' Favorite Toy
He can be anywhere - sleeping,
eating or just playing with another toy. Then a little rattle of this
toy gets this little guy going berserk. If cats had toys made from
heaven, Nicodemus feels this toy is that heavenly!

1st Swat at Water!
It finally happened. He has been watching the water for the past
week and half, but not really dumping his paw into it. Then it happens,
I am brushing my teeth, putting my hand near the water as I was washing
my hands and he decides to give it a try.
His most favorite spot in the house is
the bathtub. He'll start his yowling and I'll ask him, "what are you
doing Nicodemus." He'll keep yowling, I normally prowl to the bathroom
and he'll dunk his head low into the bathtub. Just as soon as I look
like I'll pounce on him he'll come chasing towards me with his tale
puffed and his back arched, with a type of twist jump.
The great thing about him now, he loves
baths. His first bath wasn't a full one. Then his second bath he thought
he wanted to get out then out of no where he stands there like he's a
person in a sauna. He really seems to enjoy them now. Although I am
unsure if he likes the results, trying to keep warm and licking himself
to groom himself the old fashion cat way.

Nicodemus Understands Human
Language?
One day I was talking to Matt
about getting a new bigger scratcher. We both agreed that he loves this
thing but he's getting too big for it, especially since he loves
stretching out. Matt said the catnip was on the top part. I told him why
I put a little on top when I first got it. I lost the little square cap
below that keeps the catnip
underneath. I then
walked over to where Nicodemus was, sitting on it (pic below), nudged
him off and flipped the scratcher over to show Matthew where the catnip
would have been. Nicodemus watched this whole conversation. I didn't
think anything of it and placed it back on the top side again. Right
then Nicodemus started trying to dig underneath it to find what I was
talking about. It was so funny. I grabbed my digital camera to get this
picture of him doing this. I haven't ever seen him try to feel or
scratch underneath before. I swear he knows people language on how
many incidents of things he'll do 5 seconds to 2 minutes after I say
something.

"I am Chief of Chair"
I know it could be the fact that the seat is warmer after I get off
it for a minute or two but he seems to mainly go on top of this chair
when I get away from my computer for 5 seconds. I turn around and he's
looking straight at me with that look, like I am the boss now. I thought I'd
take some pictures of him since he looked so cute, even if I wanted my
seat back. He does this to even my wood chairs (no comfort). Its all about sitting
where I was last.
His latest obsession lately is to race
to the chair before Matt does. Matt couldn't believe his eyes when he
first did it. Nicodemus saw Matt get out of the living room sofa to walk
to his computer. He looked at Nicodemus and that little guy ran to the
chair before Matt could get to it. Did I mention he's fast? ;)
Matt was like, "Hey! I don't think so, you go on daddy's lap while your
on this chair."

It's all about the Cheese
As of late, he still enjoys
playing this game. Another thing he enjoys is dragging it across
the room. It's a loud toy when he plays with
the ball moving around at 3am in the morning...

Curiosity
When he gets super curious, I'll occasionally find him on his two
feet, trying to look at something. I was told he does this prairie
dog like pose. I have been slowly teaching him the word 'UP' while
holding a toy or treat and a few times he has stood on his back two feet
in this position. When he puts his paws up high, it's an even cuter pose.

A Patient Cat
There's not a lot of cats I
have owned where they are patient for their owner to feed them. He has
only tried to jump near the sink once this whole time I have had him.
Even then he wanted to look at the water from the dishes I was cleaning.
He hasn't ever jumped on the counter or the stove.
I have already taught him the word
FOOD or do you want some food. He'll run to the kitchen and sit
patiently by the food mat if I say those words. It's so cute. I
took some pictures of when Matthew was feeding him at dinner recently.

Playful Heart

Spider Toy
At first he didn't like this toy but since we hid his fishing toy,
he's played with it a lot more.
