Games Most Anticipated: These

but I have seen some type of coverage on them:
Chat Hangouts:
Irc.enterthegame.com [#xp,
#rts, #pym, #w00t!, #rhomidcide, #qgirlz], ICQ
and occasionally the Quake3world
Forums since it's one of my baby sites I nurtured for those year. As
you can see, I don't chat anywhere other than where gamers hang
out.
Connection:
DSL (LPB)
Clan: I am in an old school clan called XtremePrejudice
(XP). Some people feel the word prejudice means being that against
people but this clan was founded off of a miltary term. These guys have been
around since a bit before Doom 1 came out. They're all like family so
to me it's like having XP as our last name.
Now if I describe how much I adore this clan,
you guys would think I am kissing booty. But to be honest, I haven’t
had a heart to go to another clan because I adore so many people who
are in it. Even when I left on April 1st 1999… Quazi and
some people thought I happened to have been playing an April Fools
joke. I actually wished it was a joke back then.
Leaving that day was like I ripped my heart out and threw it in a
lake. The feeling wasn’t nice but there was too many things going on
so I just had this urge to do it. There were three reasons why I had
left.
One was the fact that I felt I wasn’t helping XP with anything… I
wasn’t in any competitions. I wasn’t even helping at events and it
just seemed like the focus of XP seemed different from when I had
joined. When in reality it had all the same concept, I was just not
seeing people I used to see any more since most of them got sucked
into Everquest and hardly hung out on ICQ and IRC.
Second reason was some things I thought I was seeing about the clan…
mainly pride. But now that it’s cleared up… I have learned that it’s
not always what you see online (in typing matter). If I had seen these
people (who I had thought were being this way) in real life, maybe I would of seen a better aspect of things.
Third reason was a personal one so that one has been settled. :)
Any ways, when I had left…XP remained the same. They all still
treated me like a sister still. Some were very upset and asked what
happened. Even if it wasn’t XP-Sister, it felt the same no matter
what.
I told my brother (DarkViper) last October 1999 that my heart hasn’t
really left XP, it’s hard to even have the idea to go to another
clan. I still wanted to go back but felt there could have been
rejection. I felt I could have hurt
people in the process of leaving that first time.
Months flew by and in February 2000 I had opportunities to attend many
LANs that happen in the Bay Area since I had moved up here. There’s
tons of activity going in Northern California but what always kept
lingering is not having that XP homey yet cozy feeling. I guess people
who haven’t been in other clans won’t ever know the difference
unless they have had the privilege of meeting such awesome people like
XP has. I rejoined the clan in September 2000.
Previous Clans:
Shadow Clan: I was in this clan for a long
enough period of time when I was
playing Command and Conquer and Scarab. I was a hard core C&C
addict at the time, this was one of the hardest clans online to get in
for C&C but it was fun playing in little online
competitions to a game I loved so much. I left the clan because
C&C was getting to be not as popular and the clan actually retired
during this period.
X-Lax: This clan was a pretty well known clan on mplayer.com just
because the top players on that multiplayer gaming service were in it.
It was a rebellious clan really. They made the name in the term of
saying no matter what they were named, they’d still trample everyone
that stood in their path. I never really got into the real title of
being able to play in real competitions with them… they had me on
because I was well known as California Girl at the time. I was known
to everyone on Mplayer as the XLax mascot.
I learned a lot of tips from many of the members in that clan for just
being an observer and playing them during practice more so before
their real challenges. I wasn’t an outcast really, just set aside
because I was their little girl (sister in many ways). I was always
there to cheer them on before and after matches so they appreciated my
presence… some called me the XLax cheerleader. Some
of the guys in the clan were:
I left the
X-Lax clan to play around with a new
clan DarkViper and I created for fun (NB). About 2 week later the
X-Lax clan
died out.
Newsboys (NB):
This was more of a hidden clan. People from many
various clans joined it as another alias that wasn’t there own so when
there was matches played… it was hilarious on what people would do
just to know who these guys were. Some of them were Ledbetter,
LA-Peace, Bitter, Megahertz and some other clan members. The hilarious
thing was the names the guys came up with. Like Bitter was NB-Laddie, LA-Peace was NB-Grudge and so
forth.
Getting them all on the same server one night when the clan just
started was the most exciting thing I have ever done. They were playing their own clan members and had
no idea they were. Another funny thing was how people thought NB stood
for NEWBIE clan. Then when they played the guys they were awestruck and
upset. That's when the gamers tried to do some investigating.
At the end of
the first competition that night I had all of the NB gamers in the clan
jump into a room, we locked the doors so everyone could talk on the
microphones. All of them wanted to know who was who. When they found out
who each other were they couldn't stop laughing. They were mad at some
of the skilled players. Having them guess who each
other was just so cool.
Then after our
chat we unlocked the door and started a game. Lots of gamers kept coming
in the game and asking who we were. Then we would see people watch and observe these guys who they felt were
just awesome at the game but had no idea where they came from. It was
just too hilarious for words. Some even said for NB to challenge XLax, I don’t know how
that would of happened when most of them were on as that name goofing
off.
I kept my real nick name and just added NB on it.
I was more so a girl in the clan called Newsboys so some people thought
that was odd. :P This was just a very fun clan to be in. It never
really lasted that long since some of the people that were in other clans could
no longer keep their names hidden from being exposed. It was either
they really stayed with NB or they stayed with their real clan. It was
more of a hoax clan if you ask me. Something Jacob (DarkViper) and I
wanted to goof off on.
