Chemical Burn Interview:
Q3W Team

Nick Name:  Chemical Burn
Real Name: Tim Saunders
Birthday:
April 28

Background:  Chemical Burn has been known for his awesome skinning skills for Quake III Arena. He is also Quake3world.com's head webmaster for anything about Bots, Skins and Player models news.

Questions 1: What do you enjoy most about the Holidays?

Answer: Seeing family I rarely spend time with anymore, because of distance and work.

Questions 2: Can you explain your current activity in the gaming community? What are the games you have enjoyed since you stopped playing Quake 1?

Answer: Skinner and texture artist for all things Q3. Games I've enjoyed: Hexen II, Quake II, Aliens vs. Predator, Quake III, Diablio II.

Questions 3: In what way do you feel the Quake community has changed since Quake III Arena came out last year?

Answer: T he community really hasn't changed that much since Q3:A came out...other than the influx of DC'ers. The Quake community as a whole has gotten more diversified since the original Quake came out though.

Questions 4: Have you had a chance to check the Team Arena Demo yet? If so, what do you enjoy the most about it?

Answer: Have you had a chance to check the Team Arena Demo yet? If so, what do you enjoy the most about it? The model animations rock...especially when one of the models is running with the flag. The proximity mine launcher is also pretty fun to use. Nothing like the frag that happens when you're not even there. ;)

Questions 5: With id Software's new project being focused on Doom, is there any features you would like this upcoming game to include?

Answer: With id Software's new project being focused on Doom, is there any features you would like this upcoming game to include? DOOM being my all time favorite game, all I would ask is, that it be easy to develop for. There's nothing I'd like more than to do add-on accessories for a new DOOM.

Questions 6: What gamer besides yourself do you feel comes to mind as one of the most respected gamers? This would be someone who you felt is respected not only for his gaming skills but for his/her attitude.

Answer:There's a guy in my clan by the name of DForce, who's got to be the nicest player I've come across. He's both extremely skilled, and has unending patience to instruct others.

  • GoaGrrl: Chemical Burn made all of the Nachos ladies custom skins.

  • Vikingo: Chemical Burn helps people out in the skinning forum with chiQ, he even helped me. And he's doing an awesome job "cleaning" the General Discussion Forum.

  • HarlequiNQB: Chemical Burn did the first review of my Plasma Rifle way back when, and then let me interview him for my site. His latest stuff is among the best out there in my opinion. CB and chiQ make a good team.

  • SDSxDukester: Chemical Burn is as helpful as all-get-out and I personally like all those colorful DOOM skins.

  • DBabe: Chemical Burn is one of those people who gives back - very rare to find people like him these days. I think he's a great guy with a good head on his shoulders.

  • chiQ: Chemical Burn rocks. He's very serious and analytical about a lot of aspects of his life, his responsibilities no less, but has a very quirky sense of humour which is invaluable when moderating GD I think. Great giver, and very worthy of the respect he's held in. He's also a good friend.

  • CyriC: Mr. Chemical Burn is a pretty cool guy. Actually that's kind of an understatement. I have met very few people who could deal with my k0oky sense of humor let alone actually throw it back out at me. That's one prop CB gets. I have talked to CB for the past month almost every morning and whatever warped project I decide to embark on, he is always willing to give me a hand and help out. CB all in all is a top notch guy. He gets my respect hands down.

  • Vikingo: The Christmas Ornament he made looks really cool!

  • Cali Girl: Chemical Burn is a very awesome skin artist. I'd love to see him make a real game with the talent he has. I hope some company will notice him for his awesome creative skills on this.

  • Atomic: I've known Chemical Burn for a while now, and even though he's "rules with an iron fist" (inside joke), he's very fair and gives everyone a chance.

  • Vikingo: Chemical Burn helped me with my first skin too. He's doing a great job in the skinning forum and General Discussion forum.

  • Turbanator: I've had a fair few interactions with him now, and every time I've found him helpful and smart. Always encouraging and always willing to help, he's assisted me many times, not to mention the work he's done in Gen Discussion.
