Clandestine Interview:
Q3W Team

Nick Name: Clandestine
Background:
Clandestine is a very dedicated writer for one of Quake3world.com's features, Map of the Week

Questions 1: What do you enjoy most about the Holidays?

Answer: Not much.  I'm a grinch.... but I do enjoy seeing family and giving/getting gifts.  I really enjoy giving a gift when I find 'that perfect gift' for someone.

Questions 2:Can you explain your current activity in the gaming community? What are the games you have enjoyed since you stopped playing Quake 1?

Answer: My current activity is MOTW, and that's pretty much it.  With my dial up connection and busy schedule I rarely even play on-line. Most of the games I really dig are other FPSs... Q2 of course is on the top of the list, followed by Q3 and Shogo, with Tribes not far behind.

Questions 3: In what way do you feel the Quake community has changed since Quake III Arena came out last year?

Answer: Difficult for me to say since I'm not to involved in the community.  It seems the professional gaming community as a whole has grown and gotten more visibility, and I'm certain Q3 has had a huge contribution to that.  I hear a lot more about cheaters and whiners... but that's probably more related to the growth of the internet than Q3.

Questions 4: Have you had a chance to check the Team Arena Demo yet? If so, what do you enjoy the most about it?

Answer: Nope.  I haven't even had time to check out RA yet.

Questions 5: With id Software's new project being focused on Doom, is there any features you would like this upcoming game to include?

Answer: For Doom to be good it's going to have to be somewhat 'different,' yet stay true to it's roots.  I'd love to see some of the original midis/music given a new techno twist... now THAT would be GREAT.  One of the best things about Doom is the 'Cheese,' and I'd hate to see that go away.

  • Cali Girl: Clandestine is a very dedicated guy to our Map of the Week section. When he started writing articles for the section I noticed some nice things he added to his features on maps. To name just a few he has an area where he lists the custom files in the maps (something many map editors like to read), and plays the game with bots to find any laggy maps. I have enjoyed his features and hope he'll be around for the long run.

  • Atomic: I only know Clandestine from here. I haven't chatted with him much.
