Questions
1: What do you enjoy most about the Holidays?
Answer:
I love seeing friends and family. It's great
to be able to get everyone together once a year, and keep the
context of giving presents and being thankful.
Questions
2:Can you explain your current activity in the
gaming community? What are the games you have enjoyed since
you stopped playing Quake 1?
Answer:
I currently stop by IRC every once in a while to
chat with my friends, and also to blow off steam if work and
school are building up pressure. :) I've really enjoyed
playing Quake 2, HL:CS, System Shock 2 (scary!), and that's
pretty much about it. I haven't actually played much since
this summer's E3.
Questions
3: In what way do you feel the Quake community has
changed since Quake III Arena came out last year?
Answer:
From my perspective I see mostly the competitive
side of the community. With all the growth in numbers there's
less of the old people around, and so it's kind of rough
"growing up" in this environment. Plus, the online
sort of 'training community' that used to be the PGL is
completely gone, which I feel is a real shame.
One positive thing is
that the people who used to play quake 1 and the people who
used to play quake 2 have seemed to reconcile their
differences. Oh, and the Europeans turned out to be nice after
all. ;D
Questions
4: Have you had a chance to check the Team Arena
Demo yet? If so, what do you enjoy the most about it?
Answer:
Nope, haven't checked it out yet.
Questions
5: With id Software's new project being
focused on Doom, is there any features you would like this
upcoming game to include?
Answer:
The chainsaw would be great! I would love to
see a muuuch faster player
speed, incredibly unfair weapon balance and simple level
design for
deathmatch maps. I'd want to see Richard D. James do the
soundtrack
too. :D
Questions
6: What
gamer besides yourself do you feel comes to mind as one of the
most respected gamers? This would be someone who you felt is
respected not only for his gaming skills but for his/her
attitude.
Answer:
I always looked up to HoP-Jokey, as he and I had a
humorous rivalry that popped up in PGL and HEAT CIGL. In my
experience of him, he's always had a very sound and respectful
attitude about gaming and acted with integrity.

- K9-Spezzer:
Gloucester is one of the coolest people I have
met online. Unfortunately I have not had the opportunity
to meet him in real life. While talking with him on IRC
and hearing about him in interviews and conversations, he
definitely shows a level of professionalism unparalleled
by most. His dedication to work and gaming surpasses the
expected capacity you might think would be possible for
one human being, but his devotion to this new genre of
sport will surprise everyone. His contributions to the
Quake community, both in spirit and voice, have definitely
added toward the feasibility of pro-gaming as a job, and
also towards the fun factor that competitive gaming now
holds.
You can't go wrong with K9-Gloucester on the team. You will
find him an invaluable addition to the cause. Just because
he may be professional doesn't mean he isn't a fun guy. Once
you strike up a conversation with him, you never want to
stop because he always has something interesting and
insightful to say. Gloucester is a benefit to whatever team
he joins, as many of his teammates have discovered. You
can't go wrong with Glouc on the roster...
Cali
Girl: I originally
met K9-Gloucester for the first time in person at the PGL
finals in 1998. He was a very quiet person but he was
competing in the finals so he may have been quiet because
of his concentration on the event. Just last September
2000 he attended XPCon4 so I had the chance to talk to him
a lot more in person. He's one of those guys that you
could talk to for hours and still want to talk to him
more.
