Questions
1: What do you enjoy most about the Holidays?
Answer:
What isn't there to like? Tons of food, tons
of laughs, tons of everything. Tis the season to be
spoiled! =D
Questions
2:Can you explain your current activity in the
gaming community? What are the games you have enjoyed since
you stopped playing Quake 1?
Answer:
Quake II CTF was my first gaming... addiction?
Cost me many many £££££s in phone calls dialling up for a
quick game... which usually lasted a few hours =D Final
Fantasy VII was also VERY big for me, loved that game, and was
damn good at it too ;) Final Fantasy IX is the same,
love that game, amazing work from SquareSoft again.
Quake III Arena of course was another one of my fav games,
bought it mainly for the CTF, but ended up hating the CTF, and
playing 1v1 to death. My dislike of id CTF lead me to
the CCTF mod team, and my major other activities in the gaming
communities include Quaking, adminning CTF matches at the
Savage Leagues (Europe) and of course Q3W (Which I would have
never visited if it wasn't for my friend OOZE aka Zaf).
I also lead my own clan (Khalsa / =KLS= ) and run a LAN gaming
society at my school.
Questions
3: In what way do you feel the Quake community has
changed since Quake III Arena came out last year?
Answer:
For me... it's expanded, a lot, because of
the increasing number of gaming websites (such as Q3W), it
brings Quakers/Gamers from all over the world to a central
meeting point, which was never there for me in my Q2 days, and
certainly not in my Q1 days. Quaking is no longer
finding a single server and hanging out there and talking to
other server regulars mid-game, there's a lot more community
involvement with <p1mp>forums</p1mp>, chat rooms
(though they have always been there, they're much more active
now), and other communities developing around games.
This also has helped me develop my game more, and made games
more social (rather than the old "Hardcore" gibbin
sessions with no fun and just fight! fight! fight!)
Questions
4: Have you had a chance to check the Team Arena
Demo yet?
Answer:
Yup... Speed... feels like Quake 2 CTF... but
without the grapple. Nice =) Love the powerups
(though they need their balancing addressing), and it
"feels" like CTF again. Looks pweety too =D
Questions
5: With id Software's new project being
focused on Doom, is there any features you would like this
upcoming game to include?
Answer:
Oh... hmm... *thinks*..perfect features in the UI,
I know they worked heavily on them in TA, but hell, stuff like
colored cross-hairs are still needed/missing, the HUD isn't
perfect, but the messaging system is damn close to perfection
;) Ultimately, stuff like that matters when your looking
at playing a game for a year. Oh, and stop the cheaters!
Questions
6: What gamer besides yourself do you feel
comes to mind as one of the most respected gamers? This would
be someone who you felt is respected not only for his gaming
skills but for his/her attitude.
Answer:
Ouch... toughy...I can't just pick out one person,
I've met a LOT of quakers in my time at Q3W, Savage Leagues,
and even my Q2 days on the Barrysworld CTF server, and hell,
it's an impossible task just to pick one guy....
